i hear a lot about grandmothers' hands
when i ask people to "tell me a food story..."
often we end up in conversation about
Grandmother
grandmother's hands
moving across tables
brushing cheeks
wiping away tears
offering comfort
yiayia to me
nana, grandma, abuela, nonna to others
offering something to children
that we cannot quite put a finger on
but they hold so clearly in their hands
