the first of many

sam's shoes
chandigarh, india
film
men with
floating mustaches and
plastic briefcases
greyed minds
served by
a young tea boy
who must tag all the bags
the red tags
women with
red head scarfs and
stubby fingers wanting to be held
RING
RING
RING
seat 48, 49, 50
sit down
take this tray of pre prepared food
now give me your trash
a head defiantly shakes
hardly glancing up from the paper
please sir take your seat
excuse me, i must use the restroom
get up
shuffle shuffle
no face
no eye contact
no face
no eye contact
just a red headscarf and a floating mustache
wait, two second eye contact
a boy and a girl
shoulders touching
she leans into his words
she likes his smell
or maybe its his sweet breathe
they're leaving something
something they once anticipated
memories set
their photos remind them how good it was
but good is always relative
the hangover is setting in

  1. Love the poem here. And the rose. Detail and color are just incredible. Funny how you can find beauty in some of the smallest things.
